All Saints Anglican Church is located in Selby, a small village in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, Australia. You will find us a few kilometres beyond Belgrave on the road to Emerald. Puffing Billy, the historic steam train, runs just below the church, and magpies carol and kookaburras laugh to the glory of God.

All Saints Selby

This beautiful church was built of local stone in 1938 and donated by Mr Alan Tye as a memorial to his wife, Carlotta. In recognition of this the full name of our church is All Saints' Anglican Church: The Carlotta Tye Memorial. In 1939 the disastrous Black Friday bushfires swept through the hills. The little church was used as a refuge for the women and children of the district.

For more than 80 years this church has maintained an unbroken tradition of worship and service to the community.

We hope you enjoy exploring our website.

Regular Worship Opportunities

Sunday Morning

Easter Brochure

10.30am Sung Eucharist followed by a sumptuous morning tea (variety of teas, brewed coffee and a wealth of savoury and sweet finger foods). We use a modern liturgy and sing traditional and recent hymns.
(The service lasts for an hour and includes a short sermon. On festival days and saints days incense is used and sanctuary bells are rung.)
See the Services page for times of Special Services at Easter and Christmas.

Midweek

Half an hour of peace: On the first & third Wednesday of the month at 10 am:
a quiet reflective Eucharist, followed by morning tea for those who can stay.

Renovare - 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the Month, 1pm

Sunday Evening

Taize - 4th Sunday of every second month through the year 5pm (March, May etc)

Children:

Children are particularly welcome at all our services. We regard children as full members of the church and no one minds if little ones make a noise or wander around. There is a carpeted play area at the back of the church and room for several pushers. Soft toys and colouring books are available. Our custom is for children to come to the altar rail at the time of communion for a blessing by the priest.

Receiving Communion:

We welcome baptized members of any branch of the Christian Church to receive Holy Communion with us. If you think it is inappropriate for you to receive the Sacrament, come up to the altar rail anyway, place your hands behind you back and bow your head. This is the accepted sign to the priest that you will not be receiving and he or she will bless you.

Candles:

At all our services there is provision for you to light a candle as a form of prayer for yourself and or a person or persons you love, living or departed. This is usually done before the service begins or during the communion.

If you would like more information about our church services please contact Christine our secretary 0499 380 202
